German University Bangladesh (GUB) celebrated the Orientation Ceremony for the second time on 9th December 2016, to welcome the new students of the university. The program was hosted by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Saifullah Khandker, the Chairman of the Board of Trustee & Vice-chancellor -Acting, where Dr. Ferdousi Begum was present as a chief guest of the event. Md. Abdul Kalam Azad and prof. Dr. SM Iqbal Hossain were also present in the program among others. In addition, all the faculty members of the university cooperated enthusiastically to make the event as a memorable one.The campus of GUB was full of life with the new and the existing students of the university. There existed an amiable environment in the campus which was reflected on the smiling face of the students. Every corner of the University was filled with chant, chat and the sound of laugh of the students. The whole program was designed into two sections. The first part of the event was organized to welcome the new students of the university. However, the program started with the religious ritual followed by the speech of the chief guest, professor and the teachers as well as the introduction part of the students. At the end of the formal orientation ceremony, the bags reflecting the university logo were distributed among the new students of the university. Following the distribution of the bags, the program was relaxed for the lunch break. Delicious food and beverage was provided among the students and the guests. After the lunch break, the students and the teachers of the university participated in the cultural program. All the audiences of the program were astonished by the superb performance. The cultural program last for about one and half hours performances including citation of the poem, songs, dance and the fashion show made the event so enjoyable and remarkable. Last but not least, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Saifullah Khandker concluded the program with a vote of thanks toward the students, teachers and the invited guests for making the efforts as a successful one.
